They just sold Sam Boyd stadium I believe for $5 Million. Not sure if or how that would factor in athletic budget.

Barry Odom has dramatically changed the culture of UNLV football in a year. I looked up his past and fired at Missouri after 3 years during Covid so kinda an unfair thing. Becomes DC at Arkansas for 3 years. 1st year is ehh, but pretty big turnaround in years 2 and 3. So far at UNLV, he's 11-5 counting 2 post season losses, a blowout loss at NC Michigan (but beat the spread), and a loss at Fresno St in which an open WR dropped a game tying TD with less than a minute to go. Tomorrow they play at Kansas so I think this could be a telling game if UNLV is pretty good. I think they'll win that.

My hope is Odom stays at least 1 more year to see if the team can compete with the better teams nationally. 2 reasons why I'm interested is tickets are 25% of what a Raiders game is and much better seats and Odom was one name considered for Ucla when Kelly left. I think Odom ultimately wants to get back to the SEC, but if he can keep going at this rate, I think he could be a potential name for Ucla although I'm usually wrong on these things.

Unfortunately with UNLV basketball, the Golden Knights are King in Vegas so don't think UNLV will ever get to any high level of basketball again regarding fan support.
