I would not have hired White. I would have hired an interim for this year and hired my guy this year. I want an offensive minded head coach. Offense is so much more impactful and important than D in today’s game unless you are st the Georgia level. The smart hires are the offensive geniuses who will have a style throughout their tenure. You can’t have a defensive guy at the top and cycle thru OCs every year or 2. If they’re good they immediately get poached as a HC Next year and if they suck they need to be fired. You need a continuous system implemented by the HC.
Of course if the options are White or Foster, I’d choose the former, but neither are long term solutions.
The last great up and coming D minded HC was Dave Aranda. I remember he had a huge fan club on this board. How’s that working out. In today’s game, it’s just too hard to play D consistently. Good offense beat good D, unless you’re Georgia. Georgia jas NFL level talent all over their D. That isn’t happening for us.
