LSU scored more against Nicholls despite fewer yards gained because unlike against USC, their defense stopped Nicolls and gave them much better field position. In the USC game ten of their eleven drives began inside their 30 yard line and the other on their own 36 because they couldn't stop the USC offense. Against Nichols they started three drives in Nicholls territory and they all resulted in TD's. They also scored a safety which the offense wasn't responsible for. Take away those 23 points and they score . . . 21. Total yards is a much more accurate measure of defense.
All I've done here recently is question if LSU was overrated based on what they lost from last season and presented some facts about Lynn wondering if he is a "one year wonder". He's clearly turned around a horrible defense with a lot of new players. Nothing I've said deserves these personal attacks, but your grudge against me because I outsmarted you in a contest years ago and your bizarre obsessive hatred of USC makes you look like a sad bitter old man.
