Not specific to UCLA, but relevant. I suspect we will see more FCS games in our future.

With all our travel in the B1G, we are less likely want to play home-and-home series with major schools. We will want more games at the Rose Bowl.

Getting bowl eligible matters, too. An easy win is a good thing. If we ever get good, an easy win makes it easier to make the playoff.

And we still have money issues. I don't know how much money we make on a home-and-home with a major team on the game at the Rose Bowl, compared with against a weaker team. Of course, we can now schedule home-and-home games with former Pac-12 foes like Arizona or Utah with a lot less travel, but those are hardly guaranteed wins.

There aren't a lot of FCS schools in California: Cal Poly, Sac State, San Diego, and UC Davis.
