After 9 games we might have a sense of where the good and bad teams are. Now, we just have bloviating.
Ever notice how pro leagues aren't "ranked"? That's because they play each other and settle it on the field, court or diamond. Rankings are redundant and irrelevant.
I'm amazed at how college football fans go for rankings like catnip. You rank anything---mascots, home fields, uniforms, fan bases, recruits, recruiting classes---and college fans will get excited about it. It's all drivel, but it sells magazines, tickets and clicks.
