The incessant obsession with rankings on this board and among college football fans generally is both astounding and mundane.
Astounding due to the never ending fascination they provide and energy they draw from fans, like shiny new toys that never stop glittering.
Mundane in that they are wholly meaningless, a complete waste of energy especially in the transfer portal era where rosters are rebuilt every year.
