Yeah, we definitely think alike. I was thinking the same thing about Mara. He said two things that made me wonder even more about Aday. The first was his comment about being backdoored by a money offer, but the second was when he said kids don’t leave if they feel like they’re getting better. Those two statements seem to contradict each other in Mara’s case. Did he simply get a better offer, or did he feel like he wasn’t developing?
We’ve beaten that one to death on here, though, and I think the lines have been drawn. At this point, I don’t think anyone is changing their mind, and I certainly don’t expect Cronin to clear things up. In my opinion, it’s in his best interest to let things remain as they are.
When it comes to the season, I think you might be surprised by a couple of the new additions, and there’s a chance we get off to a good start. On the one hand, as Rothstein pointed out, we’re bringing back five guys who averaged double-digit minutes over the last few games. On the other hand, Cronin’s teams tend to get off to slow starts, and some of the new pieces are still pretty raw.
And Booker...imagine if he really did come out with the kind of fire and intensity that allowed him to average 8 or 9 rebounds a game. That could make a huge difference for this team.
