For most of the game, we were more competitive than I expected us to be.
However, once Canada ramped up their defense after the 1st Quarter, we had a much harder time getting good shots. Early in the game the one-on-one stuff worked for us. After the 1st Quarter, it didn't.
It was really clear that we haven't been playing together long. We didn't run a lot of team offense, and when we did, we didn't run it well.
It also didn't help that the international shot clock is 24 seconds. We were a bit slow getting into our offense and ran up against the shot clock a lot.
This is the kind of exhibition performance you would expect with a new roster before real practice begins. And this was very tough competition.
We should look a lot better by November.
