I agree, we should be beat handily. They have some really good experienced collegiate players but they also have some grown women inside. Best thing we have going for us is that their team has only been in camp for one week.
I am interested in how Bonnie Deas does. She averaged 9 rebounds a game last year for an SEC team (Arkansas). She has to play bigger than her stated height of 5'9" (another source said 5'10"). She was also named to the All Star Five at the FIBA U19 World Cup last year, playing for silver medalist Australia. The 247 article says that Hunter is the likely starter with Aarnisalo at guard. I think it is likely that Deas is going to battle Hunter for that position. Either way, it gives us a strong player coming off the bench.
I am also concerned about Gardiner. The said, I follow her on Insta and she seems to have a great attitude. There hasn't been a sign of any physical limitation. They may be keeping her out as just.a precaution.
