Of course he is a far ways away from his or that kind of potential. He may get there or perhaps he won't just based on what I can perceive as his work ethic. I've said this many times, but I do believe he made a mistake by leaving UCLA just in terms of his own personal development as a player. IMO Cronin was forcing Mara to be a more complete basketball player and he was making strides toward that. He was being pushed and challenged and from my distant vantage point it appeared that Mara bristled at this and left. To my view, if this is accurate, it doesn't bode well for Mara. I didn't see Mara being pushed in that same way at Michigan. I could be wrong, but this could come back to hurt Mara's future. He may still develop into an effective NBA player and have a long and successful career but he may also never come near to what I believe is his extraordinary potential which I do believe is significant and generational.
