It was rare for somebody to lose an entire year to an injury back in the 80s.
But then everybody starting getting bigger, stronger, faster.
And the injuries got more serious. F = m*a
Availability, as they say, is the best ability.
In these days of intense roster management scrutiny, it's gotta be a relief for coaches to know with little wiggle room who will and will not be available for next season, and what slots they will have to fill.
