It's kind of weird. 1) if I'm trying to read some kind of logic into it, I'm thinking that CCC must be very confident in what Muse will give her next season.
2) Deas, Donovyn, and Bransford seem to be defensive dawgs. Though I went and watched some of TCU's loss to UVa in the Tournament. Donovyn was matched up against that UVa guard that gets raved about and I didn't think Donovyn could handle her.
3) It's looking more and more like CCC views Bilic as not a 2.
4) None of Deas, Donovyn, or Bransford are good 3pt shooters. We don't know about Karamouzi or Somto. Maybe the plan is for Aarnisalo to play off the ball?
5) I said when we re-landed Aarnisalo, that if everyone plays to what I think their ceiling is, this is an Elite 8 team. That may have been optimistic. Can this team beat a Michigan in March? (Michigan is adding a 6'5" recruit - which should help immensely, they were really poor at the center position, just having another body to play back up center instead of 6'2" Dudley will be a big step up). But, I don't think the post-Aarnisalo additions have moved the needle enough to change that evaluation. Just looking at last years teams, I don't think this teams beats UConn, SoCaro, Texas, Duke, Michigan, maybe Vandy, LSU.
So, maybe Elite 8 is a reach.
