I hear you for sure, BL42, but that's the heart of it all - we want to force them to have to choose - pick their poison -- double down on Lauren or cling to the shooters on the perimeter. And they want to find what we're going to rely on and smother that on us. But there's another element as well - when they have to spread their defense, that opens lanes for our drivers and we have some spectacularly good drivers (when Kiki is actually making her shots).
But for that game to pay off for us we have to be hitting our three point shots.
If it all bogs down then we're going to have to impose our will on them mano a Mano - behind Lauren and Angela and Sienna and Kiki primarily.
When y9ou have a weapon like Lauren, you have to build around her - doesn't necessarily mean just her scoring any more with her passing ability and mature court recognition now. But it may just come down to her having to fight through and take over the game, Unless we're hitting our jumpsuits.
Battle one of this match up is purely physical, however. Both these teams are going to want to open the game by throwing the first punch(es) and the one who comes out on top of that collision will have an advantage early on. (One of the things I've loved about this season has been the chess match that the quality of our individual pieces sets off each and every game. And now this is the ultimate. Just hoping we can keep it going all the way!)
