And, it's a problem that's exacerbated by the fact that Lauren gets manhandled in the post.
I'm repeating myself, but Fournier getting in foul trouble changed the game. And, they quit double teaming Lauren. I don't know why. Texas and UConn will have bigs they can throw at Lauren.
We have three elite shooters. I wish we were running plays where we ran one of them through multiple screens. Like we're going to spend the first half of the clock working to get Gianna, Kiki, or Gabriela open for a three. Not "whoever comes open, but running plays for a player. When Lauren doesn't have good position when she receives the ball, send a cutter in behind her. Or, intentionally have her receive the ball like 7 feet from the basket and feed cutters. And, if they are manhandling her early, have her play the high post, and feet the ball to Dugalic or Sienna. They both have a great post up games, that are different than Lauren's. On non-three pointers today, Dugalic and Sienna were a combined 9-11. They are great post players in their own right, and they present different challenges.
