Duke went 9/19 47% on shots from 10 ft to the 3 pt line and Ok State went 10/22 (45%) We're playing "drop coverage" with our bigs on switches. No one is dribble penetrating on us (except on the break), but we're getting very little pressure in opposing midrange shooters.
Our season FG% is 36%. That will go up in March, better competition. But, These seem like high numbers. I'd like to see our bigs push out more on switches, if they aren't in foul trouble. Challenge those shots. Especially if we face Texas. They take very few 3% shots. And, Booker is the midrange queen.
A wild thing, is using Dr. Bruin's metric we were the Shot Selection Role Models today. 11 of our 58 shots were neither lay-ups or 3's. And, all but 1 of those* were from 7 feet or closer. *Lauren had to take a 14 footer w/ time running out. I don't know that I buy into the idea that any middie is a bad middie. But, today, we weren't taking them.
