Cronin didn't just pull Dailey. He pulled Booker and Clark, too. So, after cutting the lead to 4, he brought in 3 bench players at once. The lineup was Dent, Perry, Williams, Freeny, and Jamerson. I'm not sure who he thought could score. And, against a lineup of mostly second string players, UConn went on a 10-0 (maybe 12-0) run in just a minute and a half, essentially putting the game away.
I understand what I assume was his rationale. After a big push to cut the lead, give the starters a quick rest and finish the game strong. But, I thought it was ill-advised. UConn was obviously going to blow out that lineup.
