This subject came up yesterday. It was something we discussed during the season, but I realize many just show up here during the tournament, so I'll repeat the answer:
No, this is not our worst rebounding team ever . . . it's only the second worst.
Our rebounding rate, the percentage of all rebounds we get is 49.3%. That's an average of about one less per game than our opponents. Usually we get around 51-52% which is a little above average. The best rebounding teams get 55% or more.
Only four times have we been outrebounded since they kept the stat in 1951. Of the other three, two were by small margins. But in the 2012-13 season, the rate was slightly under 49%. That year we started four guards and Travis Wear. That team gave up double figure offensive rebounds in 22 games. This year it's happened 14 times.
