The character of the recruiters, the character of the recruits and those around him, and the character of the institutions. Ultimately all of this could come down to what each entity is willing to do, willing to ignore, and willing to compromise to get what they want. In this case, I would offer that Cronin strikes me as an individual who may be unwilling to compromise at all or very little and tries to stay true to his word and himself. UCLA, IMO, also appears to fall into that same category relatively speaking. Now that could be to their advantage or their detriment depending on how one sees this process and how to achieve their goals.
