Russ, haven't seen you posting much lately. Hope all is well with you. Since Michigan is my wife's school, we watch all of their games as well as all Bruin games. And since Mara is an ex Bruin, I watch his play very closely.
Regarding Mara: I can say with confidence that he is definitely a much better player now than he was with the Bruins. In fact, he runs the court very well and is in better condition, heavier, and more active on both ends of the court than he was as a Bruin.
In today's Ohio State game for instance, he scored on 3 fast break lobs as he outran the others on the break. I don't pay much attention to analytics though, I go by what I see on the court. Of course, he has his low/bad days like all players do but overall, I like his game a lot more now than I did when he was a Bruin. No disrespect for your opinion though.
We will all get a chance to see him next week when the Bruins go to Crisler Center. Should be an emotional game for him so who knows how he will respond. But he really played well against Ohio State today with 24 points, 6 boards, 3 blocks, 2 assists and that included 2 of 3 three point shots (never thought I'd see him do that).
