In a defensive "clinic", UCLA managed to squeak out a 12 pt lead over Rutgers.
Never saw so many combined open shots in a long time.
3 players already in double-digits led by Powers with 18, breaking down UCLA with 7-8 from the field; Bilo @ 17 shooting 50%, inclusive of 50% from the arc; and the Garbage Man shooting 60% from the field and in double-digits yet again............yet again in the 1H.
UCLA prevailing in almost every game within-a-game, particularly a far superior floor game with a humungous 11 dimes and an equally impressive only 1 TO vs 7 & 7 for RUT.
The one exception is we're once again drawing the short-straw on rebounds at 12 vs 16, with Dailey only boarding 2 (taking note that rebounds for both teams were sparse becuz shooters all over the floor weren't missing much).
RUT has lost some close games, but they still remind me of a helter-skelter playground team that doesn't take good care of the ball and relies on its deadeye dick shooters going 1:on:1.
After UDub comes in, the soft part of our schedule is over and the extreme step-up in competition will likely have CMC spittling all over the place.
GO BRUINS!
