Thank you for your insights, ej. I agree with you - and two thoughts:

1) the failings you mention are not new at all; they are things we've worried about since before the season even started - did we have a post player and could our guards be able to actually stay in front of their men and cut them off on defense. The answer seems to be NO to #1. As to #2, not a great outlook but many feel that our best - and single - guard on defense is Skyy Clark who has missed the last 8 games now I believe. Double ouch but really just falls under the heading of It really is what it thought it was.

2) was a terrific game. Thing is, overall, both teams managed to get what they wanted to get - on offense; neither could really stop the opponent's offense. In the end, we had to defend the three point line better which exposed the guards and opened up the drives and they rode that (and a mystifying wrong call) to the win.Given the chances of hitting a three pointer as opposed to a layup, I would wish we'd focused on stopping the drives at the end. But it was a terrific game and one that no one deserved to lose
