In a postgame, she said she didn't like the idea. That Sienna is not making them efficiently in practice. She said she told Sienna, if you take one, "you better be open, and you better make it."
Ok, she's 0 for 4. Close needs to lay down the law. Yesterday. No 3's for Sienna. It's not just about Sienna missing three shots in a blow out. It's about team discipline. If everyone knows Close doesn't want Sienna taking them, and Close puts up with it, then Close loses the respect of the team. Other players start thinking "why do I have to listen to her." "It's a blow out, Sienna's glory hogging, jacking up threes, why do I have to work hard on D when we're up big? Why can't I put up bad shots too?" And, you know who else missed a 3? Lauren. I'm sure she wants to take threes, too.
Close needs to be the grown up and say cut that shot out.
