Both teams, on both sides of the ball changed how they were attacking and defending. Of course, if he was a better player, the player he will probably become he would have, and I believe will, change the game in more profound ways. But still, as he is now given his height and his current abilities his mere presence on the floor changes everything for both teams. That's really something that is rare and IMO something that shouldn't be ignored. I don't think Cronin ignored it. I think Cronin was trying to incorporate the effect Mara had on the game with his own method of coaching. Maybe that could have been done, but it is my opinion that Cronin should have done more to bend to Mara's unique presence. Maybe he would have next season, but I have my doubts. Cronin appears to me to be the kind of coach that is ensconced in his ways to the point that I believe can be detrimental.
