UConn has been playing great and we've played lousy to this point - the outside shots are awful tonight - it happens - and ball handling is very poor but a lot of that is UConn's defense Jaquez is over cooked badly, overshooting everything - pressing. A bad game against a superb opponent in the national spotlight - bad combination but a great year overall. Some weaknesses to shore up for sure but we lose only one player from this team and are adding a solid freshman class including Sienna Betts - lose Dugalic who is 6'4" and does a bit of everything, has led the team in RBs and assists a number of times but we add Sienna who is also 6'4" and a rising star. And we add Leger-Walker who adds a second final year great guard to team with Rice. Aarnisalo won't be a freshman next year,
We're getting schooled by a terrific team having an excellent night - they do all the little things just right - blocking out especially. It happens. Not our year to make it all the way. But no need to eat the team. Our best year in a long time and having Betts - provided we get her the ball inside because she's among the most accurate shooters in the nation in there but she wouldn't rank very high shooting outside jump shots - sorry - she needs to be where she is - playing high post and in from there. We need better guard play and I believe we will have that next year with this team.
Applause to UConn but a great year and let's see if we can't make it pay off next year. And I hope we show better in Q4 this year
