More and more, I like seeing players who aren't just one-skill specialists. If their main skill - outside shooting, passing, whatever - isn't working against an opponent, can they do other this that keep them on the floor and contributing?
Even against lesser competition, 7+ boards in 33 minutes from the guard position shows the player has some motor and isn't afraid to help a team win outside of just jacking it up outside. Plus, the 90%+ FT rate suggests he's a legit shooter, and not just having a great outlier year.
Throw in that he's a former JUCO transfer and I'm hopeful we;ve got a Reaves/ Knecht-type gym-rat/ scrapper here.
