CONSENSUS BIAS - The cognitive bias of assuming others share your same attributes or opinions.
SOCIAL PROJECTION: – Psychological tendency of people to expect others to act or think similarly to themselves.
Fans here who claim the players don't want to play for Cronin because of his abrasive coaching style probably got yelled at by their 6th grade coach once and never gotten over it. Just because they don't like to get criticised doesn't mean Cronin's players think the same way. Fans only see Cronin's behavior for two hours during a stressful situation, the game, and a few minutes afterwards in a press conference. That is only a very small fraction of the time he spends with the players, 20 hours a week in practice and meetings. None of you ever see that, so your opinion is misguided and not based on the entire picture.
The players know what the coach is like before they sign up to play for him. They all want to get better and win games. Most don't mind the coach to be hard on them if that's the way they can learn the game. This is an aspect of high level basketball, which few, if any of you have played. If players leave it's almost always for: (a) more playing time or (b) more money.
So you little softies that can't handle a little criticism wouldn't be able to play for Cronin and he wouldn't want you anyway. You don't speak for the players.
