Nothing stopping him from paying for school himself. This is getting a bit silly. When it’s actually pretty simple. Cut off athletic privileges and of course he finishes the quarter. What he does after that is his business. But assuming he is in good academic standing (and there is no reason to assume otherwise), he’s obviously not expelled from the university.
It looks like you have a much bigger problem with these guys getting paid than I do. Pay them. But if they are not matriculating through the university they are not eligible to play for the university.
There is a saying I hear all the time these days. 2 things can be true at the same time. They can be professionals. And they can be students. And their eligibility to compete can be tied to their student status.
