Even w a +12.9% fg% differential, we still get 2.8 more offensive rebounds per game. Than our opponents.
Ominously, the one team w a better fg% differential than us is UConn.
And our rebounding differential is twice theirs. So as Barry said, they don’t figure to exploit our weakness on the boards. We should have a clear advantage on the boards.
A killer bad stat for us is TO’s they are 3rd best in the country w a -8.3 differential. We are exceptionally worse at + .02 TO differential. We have to take better care of the ball.
I think our size gives us a bit of a chance. We should be able to limit Strong. She’s a not as good Morrow. We finally figured out how to defend Watkins. Maybe that will help. But the way Bueckers is playing is wayyyyy better than Watkins.
I don’t think UConn has the personnel to slow Betts down the way LSU did. We had a stretch where Lauren lost the ball twice and another two of our players got to’s on the attempted entry pass. UConn probably won’t be able to deny Betts the ball so much, or slow her down when she gets it.
But we’re going to need our sharp shooters to hit some threes.
