Dent had 21 points and 6 assists against a very good Marquette team and 14 points and 6 assists in the MSU game. So he did contribute but I guess, not enough against a very tough MSU defense. Not much help from his teammates either even though UNM lead at the half. Couldn't compete in the second as MSU outscored them 42 to 32.
Even your great guards have their off nights. As an example, Alabama's excellent PG Sears had 34 points and made 10 of 15 threes in their win over BYU prior to this game. Tonight, in their 20 point loss to Duke, he only had 6 points on 2 for 12 shooting and only 1 three out of 5 attempts. It happens to the best and you really can't judge an individual player on a single game.
