There is confusion (at least, for me) over the language used for direct payments from schools and payments by school NIL collectives (I thought that those had largely been ended, since schools can (must?) now pay the athletes directly), and payments from independent entities (e.g., ATT, Wendy's, Van Nuys Ford)
