He’s basically a poor man’s Howland. He emphasizes defense but leaves a lot to be desired on offense. His shortcomings as an offensive coach can be less significant when we have elite offensive players like Jaquez and Campbell and even Watson, but this year the roster is more of a mixed bag of good, not great players. This roster never made sense to me, and it seemed like Cronin was just taking any highly rated player from a power conference. It’s produced mixed results.

But the bigger issue is that Cronin’s personality and style are terribly ill-matched with the current culture of college basketball. He’s an old school guy trying to humiliate his team into playing better. That might have worked in the 1980s. Doesn’t work anymore.

We need to be done with this dolt.
