the goalposts.
That said, as you noted, you're entitled.
It still leaves your comment that you deem CMC's O: "fine as is".
And, that comment is what I strongly and unequivocally disagree with.
You then hijacked the discussion to CMC's overall record.
Again, you're entitled, but it's like playing a game of blind man's bluff.
CMC had a losing season last yr.
In his 1st sixteen seasons as a head coach, he reached the S16 all of 1 time. One!
We had a solid BZ contributer, CincyFan, for years before he sadly passed away. But, when CMC was selected as UCLA's new coach, CincyFan had a unique perspective given his locale. One of his central messages was that the Cincy Nation was far from upset at losing Mick.
CMC has had 1 spectacular season at UCLA resulting in a FF. He made 2 other Dances while failing so 2 other times. I have never failed to prop him as an elite D coach. I have consistently posted about him as a largely mediocre O coach, with backup data.
It's not that I have ever opined that he is an inferior coach, as he's clearly a step up from Lavsferatu (in honor of the current horror movie) or Alford. But, for you to say his O is fine becuz of his overall record is clearly you putting a ceiling on his potential/capabilities.
This is where you and I come to a fork in the road....
