Yes, 65, you are correct. Dailey is over 18, thus his privacy rights under both HIPAA AND FERPA are with him, not his parents. That said, your speculation makes sense. Perhaps Cronin's personal policy, or perhaps UCLA's, is that a player's medical status is not discussed with others, including members of the media, without the okay of the player and his parent(s), even if the player is 18+.

Regarding Dailey specifically, it's an interesting situation because he reportedly got smacked in the UNC game, then played really well versus Gonzaga while wearing the mask. Maybe he got re-smacked during practice this past week between games, or perhaps the concussion issues raised by someone above came into play. Either way, I sure hope he's well by Tuesday, as we're going to need him against Michigan.
