a distant vantage point and watching the game on tv was that the rims appeared pretty live or tight. Didn't take much force for a ball to bounce off of the rim. Perhaps the rim breakaway force is adjusted more to the lively side. From what I've seen in Bruin games at home, the rims at Pauley seem neutral to maybe a little soft. In my experience, when playing on a court with a very live rim, you'd better hit the center of the hoop if you want to shoot a decent percentage.
