and I agree with a lot of what you say. The fact is that Andrews, this year, has not shown that he can run this team. When he finally comes around a lot of what ails the Bruins right now will go away.
You're certainly correct that right now there is a hole of sorts at the Bruin post. But, IMO, that hole is not the crucial element facing the Bruins. The post play will get better. Right now, even with his weaknesses, Mara is a factor for opponents trying to attack the Bruins down low. As he continues to learn, grow, improve, and get stronger he will be an even bigger factor. Kyle continues game by game to get better. I truly believe that in terms of good post play for the Bruins this season that it's just a matter of time. And until then we might be surprised just how effective those two guys will be in the process as they grow into their positions.
The impact of good guard play, however, can't be overlooked on any level but particularly in college basketball, and good point guard play is invaluable. I don't think we're disagreeing all that much here. Clearly improved post and point guard play are important and crucial for the Bruins. I just think that Andrews playing to his utmost as a point guard (as he has shown he can do, but we haven't seen thus far this year) will be more impactful right now for the Bruins then stellar post play. And, since we've seen Andrews do that, I think it's not unreasonable to think we could see him do it again right away - like today even. I think that in the meantime, before the Bruins get both, solid post play will suffice right now for the Bruins as we've come to see that Mara and Kyle just need some more time.
