Maybe it is that there's little interest? Maybe one of the schools requested the venue? We don't know. Relax. It's just a non conference game in Las Vegas with New Mexico. Those Dr. Pepper commercials about "Fansville" are a funny exaggeration but they're not too far off portraying the over anxious over obsessive fans seeing signs of doom and gloom around every corner.
