Gabi Jaquez is the tournament's leading scorer at 22.3 points per game for Mexico. It's the tournament's best team to date - with a big and dominant front court - against the team that entered the tournament as the lowest rated team coming in. But they added the UCLA player and that changed the dynamic.

With their starting PG out and their #2 resting, Mexico - which had already qualified for the semi-finals at that point with a 2-0 record, had to move players around in the final game of the round robin portion of the tournament. They lost to Montenegro, also a semi-finalist, but only by a score of 74-71 which the HC said gave them a huge boost in confidence.

The tournament write up gives Czechia the advantage due to their front court size and talent, says the Cinderella Mexico's chances lie in hitting from behind the arc.

In addition to her 22.3 ppg, Jaquez is also averaging 8.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals a game. She is shooting 50% from the field and 51% from downtown.

Just a breakout performance for Jaquez and a real upper for Mexico
