She's had a few games in which she's carried UCLA to wins with enormous performances but here she's the key player, the star. Two big wins, both come from behind and both with Gabi being the high scorer. Playing with all the talent that Cori Close has amassed on this UCLA team, she plays a different role - she's the Swiss Army knife, the one who rebounds, throws assists, scores sometimes, defends, But there are so many stars all around her to be team leader.
This coming season we have an extremely strong team but we've lost some very dependable scorers and leaders starting with Charisma Osborne. This experience for Gabriela in Mexico, at high elevation also, will be great for her. She should return ready to take the next step forward in her progression. Just couldn't be happier for her.
