As such, if Mara is solid defensively, he'll be on the floor no matter what his offense is, as long as he doesn't turn the ball over (and, TBH, from an offensive skill perspective, he was better than Bona - better hands, better shot, better offensive footwork, better passer, just far less athletic and quick).
But, he doesn't have Bona's motor, strength, speed or athleticism. He does have 6+ inches on Bona and a longer wingspan tho. He needs a lot of time in the weightroom, and yeah, I really wish he was a bit quicker down the floor, but from a defensive standpoint, having him as a rim-protector is something Cronin will have a VERY hard time putting on the pine, especially given how Cronin values defense about 10x more than offense.
