The US won easily, 104-81 over a good French team. It wasn't a particularly entertaining game. It was very sloppy. I guess that isn't a huge surprise, since I don't think the team has been together very long.

The US won mostly with defense, offensive rebounding, and free throw shooting.

The US had 22 offensive rebounds and shot 40 free throws while shooting 2 of 18 on three-pointers. They pressed a lot causing 24 turnovers. With all the offensive rebounds and turnovers, the US shot a ton of layups. The US was too quick and athletic.

With the sloppy game, it was hard to evaluate individual players. Koa Peat looked good scoring 18, but was 2 of 6 from the FT line.

Mandaquit didn't score but had 5 assists in 18 minutes. A lot of those assists were to wide open players under the basket.

Brandon McCoy only took two shots in 14 minutes, making one of them.

Chris Cenac only played 7 minutes. He went 2 of 3 from the field and had 4 rebounds.

Ihe US plays Guinea tomorrow. Guinea beat China today.

I think tomorrow's game is 7 am PDT, and you can watch it on YouTube either live or after 9:30 or so on demand.
