We tried to hire MULTIPLE coaches in '19 after firing Alford. Here's a good recap for those who have already forgotten:

This list doesn't even include Rick Barnes, the coach we most wanted, but who chose to remain at Tennessee. It also doesn't include the bottom of the barrel coach we did end up hiring.
Also, that bloated record of Cronin's was compiled mainly in the American Athletic Conference, which is basically a mid-major.
He's been favored to win the Pac 12 three times (ie: was the pre-season favorite) and has done so once, with the roster built by Alford.
So you'll have to excuse my cynicism about this guy. He's in over his head, and that's going to become even more apparent soon.
