who put in my pacemaker 2 years ago is leaving our hospital. He is a UCLA grad and huge Bruin basketball fan and we became very good friends in the near 3 years he was here. Every appointment I had with him, we spent at least 50% of the time talking Bruin basketball.
It may be fate though as the EP who is replacing him(Dr. Chad Bidart) served a 3 year Electrophysiology Fellowship at the UCLA Arrhythmia Center along with an internship at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Haven't met him yet (but will in a couple of weeks) and don't know if he is into sports or is a Bruin fan. Be great if he is though. It's always a big plus if your doctor is not only very good in his specialty but the two you also have a lot in common--such as Bruin basketball. Makes it much easier to communicate.
