youth sports are insanely out of control. Middle school families are paying many thousands of dollars and driving all over Egypt to go to games, let alone the hotel costs, just for their kid to play a sport.
If college scholarships for non-rev sports are decreased by what, 70%? Does that take a huge chunk out of the motivation for parents to dive into that BS? Could we go back to the times when middle school kids can play any sport they are good at, instead of just one? I mean, our friends had to sign a pledge that their middle school kid wouldn't ski. Insanity.
The one good thing that could come from this is the dismantling of the Youth Sports Industrial Complex.
